Product & UI/UX design

Product and UI/UX design that engineers can build

Type Apps runs product and UI/UX design: research, user flows, wireframes, clickable prototypes and design systems. Design sits in the same team as engineering, so what you approve is what gets built.

UI/UX design

What we do

Research

Goals, users and constraints, so design decisions start from what people actually need.

User flows

The paths people take through your product, mapped before any screen is drawn.

Wireframes

Layouts that settle structure and content before visual detail.

Clickable prototypes

Figma prototypes you can tap through, test and share before any code is written.

Design systems

Shared components, styles and rules that keep every screen consistent as the product grows.

Process

How we work

  1. 01

    Research

Goals, users and constraints, gathered on a first call and in discovery.

  2. 02

    Flows and wireframes

User flows and wireframes that settle structure and content.

  3. 03

    Prototype

Clickable prototypes and the system architecture, agreed before the build.

  4. 04

    Design system

Components and styles your product is built from.

  5. 05

    Refine

A demo at the end of every two-week sprint, so designs are checked as working software.

A good fit when

  • You have an idea and want to see it working before committing to a build.
  • People get stuck in your current product and you want to know why.
  • Your product has grown and screens no longer look or behave consistently.
  • You want design and engineering handled by one team.

FAQ

UI/UX design: common questions

What does Type Apps include in UI/UX design?

Type Apps covers research, user flows, wireframes, clickable prototypes and design systems, all in Figma. Design starts with your goals, users and constraints and ends with screens and reusable components ready to build, so the handoff to engineering is clear and nothing is lost between design and development.

Can I test the design before development starts?

Yes. We build clickable prototypes in Figma so you can tap through the main flows, show them to users or stakeholders, and change direction before any code is written. Changing a prototype costs far less than changing a built product, which is why design comes before the build in our process.

What is a design system?

A design system is a shared library of components, styles and rules, such as buttons, forms, colors and type, that keeps every screen consistent. Type Apps creates design systems in Figma alongside the product, so new features look and behave like the rest of your app as it grows.

Do you design both mobile and web apps?

Yes. We design web apps, iOS and Android apps, dashboards and internal tools. Because design and engineering work in the same team, user flows and prototypes are drawn alongside the system architecture, so designs fit what the platform and back end can do.

Where does design fit in the process?

Design is the second step of our process, after discovery and before the build. It covers user flows, clickable prototypes and the system architecture. Each later sprint ends with a demo, so you can see designs become working software and adjust them as you go.
